Just eaten? What have you eaten? Cornflakes? Jam sandwich? Roast dinner?Where did you buy it from? A shop? A supermarket? A bloke in the pub? More importantly do you know where your food came from? Probably not. Yet everyday you probably eat things that have been flown half way round the world, shipped in windowless shiping crates or made in a factory in some far off corner of your country by low paid individuals for the benefit of some chap on a golf course

The milk you put on your cornflakes. Which dairy did it come from? Which herd? Can you ask the woman at the checkout? Would she know? How about the jam in that sandwich? Or the bread? Was it baked locally or made on a production line last month? Your roast dinner? Nice was it? What did the animal eat? Did you meet your meat?

It's a sorry state of affairs. But it need not be that way. Because believe it or not your local area is alive with cottage industries manufacturing, growing and producing delicious food. Food you will probably never see in a supermarket. Food which in some respects tastes far superior to similar mass produced branded foods. Food which costs less to the environment and local economy. Food made and sold by people you can meet personally. Food made by people passionate about what they do and not on the behalf of some faceless executives in London who really couldn't careless.

It will contain reviews of farm shops, farmers and local markets, the food itself, reccomendations from other people, who like me, are passionate and care about their food and, of course, a forum in which you can join in the discussion with other members. Best of all, its all for free.

This site is also in constant development and, initially, may be subject to design changes. However the content will remain. So join up today and share the love :-)
